The Master’s Program in Sustainable Urban Regeneration, established in 2007, provides a master course under three departments related to construction engineering. The course is exclusively designed for working students who are interested in and have engaged in activities related to urban and town planning. The course aims at focusing on contemporary urban planning issues, envisioning the future shape of urban planning and management comprehensively, and examining urban planning and management realized through partnerships among public, private and citizen organizations and individuals. As of the end of March 2017, 178 working students of various backgrounds, occupations and ages were enrolled in the course and 114 students received master’s degrees. The program is to provide a so-called " place for creativity" in the university, where multifaceted people constantly exchange their knowledge and ideas to encourage innovative activities.
