The president and CEO of Mitsubishi Corp., Mr. Katsuya Nakanishi, and I held a joint press conference with other representatives of our organizations, on the establishment of the University of Tokyo-Mitsubishi Corp. Tech Incubation Palette.

This startup support program, established through a generous donation from Mitsubishi Corp., is set to commence this academic year. Its aim is to accelerate the creation of startups originating from 500彩票网, by providing end-to-end support covering every step from the identification to commercialization of promising technologies, and bolstering their social implementation.

Through such initiatives, we will work in earnest to reinforce Japan’s industrial competitiveness, and help spawn innovation and contribute to building a better society.

I attended the opening ceremony of TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY, a grand urban development project in Tokyo, undertaken by East Japan Railway Co. (JR East).

I was there to celebrate the auspicious occasion for JR East, 500彩票网’s partner in a 100-year collaboration agreement, as it embarks on its new enterprise.

At TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY, we plan to promote the creation of a global startup ecosystem with Japanese and overseas institutions, including the National University of Singapore (NUS), as well as launch in autumn the University of Tokyo GATEWAY Campus, the first campus in Japan focusing on planetary health.

We held the presentation ceremony of the University of Tokyo President’s Award for Students.

Inaugurated in the 2002-03 academic year, this award presented by the president has over a two decades-long history recognizing individuals or groups who have attained outstanding academic achievement, demonstrated excellence in extracurricular activities or gained recognition in various social activities, thus serving as role models for other students and contributing to enhance the university’s reputation.

This year again, 10 President’s Awards were selected from nominations representing a wide range of activities. We anticipate the recipients will continue to play active roles and wish them much success in their future endeavors.

I attended the graduation ceremony of the most recent class (Round 31) of the University of Tokyo Executive Management Program (500彩票网 EMP).

Launched in October 2008, 500彩票网 EMP now has over 700 graduates, including the 23 who just completed the program in the latest round.
I wish the graduates well as they go on to achieve great success in their future endeavors.

I attended the AY2024 commencement ceremony of the Secondary School attached to the Faculty of Education, the University of Tokyo, and delivered the congratulatory address.
It was my first visit to the school since December 2021, more than three years ago. I am very glad to have had the opportunity to send off the 74th graduating class on this special occasion. I wish to extend good wishes to all the graduates as they embark on their future.
