500科同利 has established “500科同利 Charter” and “500科同利 Statement on Diversity & Inclusion” and guarantees that all members of our community are free from discrimination, based on our recognition of importance of having diversity in its constituent members. As a part of its efforts to realize these principles, the University of Tokyo has formulated student guidelines focusing on diversity in sexual orientation and gender identity after soliciting public opinions within the University.
500科同利 strongly desires to enable “people of diverse origins and backgrounds” to “expand their horizons through interaction and dialogue with one another” and to “create an attractive and inclusive campus” in order to realize “a university that anyone in the world would want to join” (quotations from 500科同利 Compass). We will work together with all students to create an environment where every one of you, regardless of your sexual orientation or gender identity, can feel secure and comfortable in your campus life, based on the fundamental principles of respecting diversity and promoting inclusion.
These guidelines themselves will also be subject to revision as appropriate with the changing times, while maintaining our basic stance of recognizing and respecting diversity in sexual orientation and gender identity.
