On September 4th, the Center for Research and Development of Higher Education at 500²ÊÆ±Íø launches a new group of events for those interested in developing their teaching skills: 500²ÊÆ±Íø FD Open.
500²ÊÆ±Íø FD Open is a series of independent workshops and sessions entirely in English and open to anyone (faculty, researchers, and PhD students) regardless of your institution. The topics of 500²ÊÆ±Íø FD Open address key educational topics (class design, rubrics’ design, syllabus design, flipped classroom, peer-instruction, etc.) and emphasize reflection + discussion + practice (RDP). The first workshop of the 2023-2024 edition is “Class Design & Micro-Teaching”. The workshop's details are as follows:
500²ÊÆ±Íø FD Open is a series of independent workshops and sessions entirely in English and open to anyone (faculty, researchers, and PhD students) regardless of your institution. The first workshop of the 2023-2024 edition is “Class Design & Micro-Teaching”. The workshop's details are as follows:
- Date: September 4th, 2023, 9:00-17:00
- About: Participants learn about how to design, structure, and deliver a class. The participants prepare in advance a brief class that they teach to their peers and for which they receive feedback. Later, this feedback is discussed along with further ideas to improve the design and delivery of the classes.
- Language: English
- Participants: 10 people (faculty, researchers and Ph.D. students from all institutions are welcome)
- Instructor: Dr. Gabriel Hervas (the University of Tokyo)
- Certificate: Participants obtain a certificate of completion
- Fee: Free of charge (lunch included)
- Format: In person, at Hongo Campus, the University of Tokyo
